Flashback Friday: Preschool Graduation

Next weekend, hundreds of little preschoolers will don their caps and gowns and have their very first graduation. Then it'll be off to something new and exciting--kindergarten. Last year, my niece was involved in this very important rite of passage and now she's about to finish kindergarten. It's crazy how time flies.

No preschool graduation is complete without a song and dance number.

Outfit change!

She did it!

Flashback Friday: Graduation '09

Tomorrow, the class of 2012 will graduate from the University of Mary Washington. In celebration of the occasion, what better focus for Flashback Friday than to go back to the graduation of 2009. Shooting a college graduation is very hectic, since the campus is packed with tons of family members, graduates and friends, but everyone is so happy and excited, it's hard not to feel the same way.

Congratulations Class of 2012! Enjoy every moment of your big day and celebrate your well deserved accomplishments.

A new family member...

A few months ago, my husband and I adopted an amazing dog from a shelter. Having lost my childhood pet in December after 13 wonderful years, I was skeptical about adopting a new pet. However, Buddy has been a blessing. He's an awesome dog, and although I'll always miss Rags, I've realized that I have room in my heart for a new friend and family member. Incidentally, soon after we adopted Buddy we had two of our only winter snows.

Buddy has many different looks. When we first got him, he had this crazy hairdo. He's since been groomed.

Up close and personal with Buddy.

Flashback Friday: Summer Beach Trip '08

I've decided that since I've been taking photos forever that I should find a way to showcase some of the oldies, but goodies so welcome to the first "Flashback Friday" post. With the current warm temperatures we've been having, all I can think about is summer. I'm a summer person by nature (I am an August baby after all) and I absolutely love warm, sunny days. And with summer, comes the beach, so what better than an old beach trip as the focus for this post. Below are some highlights from a summer beach trip in 2008.

I know they don't look like much, but these are my absolute favorite sandals. Sadly, after this trip, they were so worn they had to be stored in a Ziploc bag.

I think she might end up being a surfer.

It's not the beach without ice cream.
