Sneak Peek: Spring Fling '13

I had tons of fun at yesterday's Spring Fling and took so many photos. I can't wait to blog them, but until then, here's a fun little sneak peek. I love the expression on the children's faces as they rush to find eggs.

Flashback Friday: Easter '10

In keeping with my Easter theme, today's Flashback Friday features pictures from Easter 2010. Sadly, with the crazy weather we've had recently, I doubt Sunday will be filled with flowers and signs of spring, but it'll still be Easter, one of my absolute favorite holidays. Did I mention the Easter bunny wrote me a letter once?

Flashback Friday: Spring Fling '10

Spring is coming, supposedly, so what better thing to flashback to than a spring fling? I absolutely love spring, especially those later spring days when it gets warm, but not quite hot. And I don't know that there's anything better than spring flings and Easter. These are just a few pictures from Massaponax Baptist Church's 2010 spring fling, featuring popcorn, cotton candy, barrel train rides, a bounce house, games and an Easter egg hunt.

It looks like someone is scoping out the eggs as she awaits the start of the egg hunt.

It isn't a spring fling without snacks.

Ring toss anyone?

Pinterest goodies...

Today's post is a little different than the others. I'm a Pinterest addict. I can't help it. I've always been pretty crafty (a trait I received from my mother) and Pinterest just helps feed my passion for all things DIY. Below are just a few of the projects I completed for the holidays, including both crafts and food because you really can't have one without the other.

These made fabulous gifts and they were so simple. You just need cookie mix, a cookie cutter and some festive ribbon.

For the beer drinker in your life, there's Reinbeers.

I made these for a church event (the cookies, not the reinbeers). They were a huge hit.

And finally, these cookies were so intense to make, but looked amazing.

Christmas play...

It isn't Christmas without a children's play. Each year, my church puts on a Christmas play with a varying story all leading back to the true meaning of the holiday. The most recent play was a more traditional, yet musical, take on the Christmas story with each child portraying a different character, including Mary and Joseph, the wise men, angels and a host of barnyard animals.

Mary and baby Jesus share a few moments on stage.

One donkey suffered from a bit of stage fright.
